Welcome to the Morning Star Baptist Church
Our motto is to Learn, Love, Live.
Remember to keep following the Morning Star
Rev. D. Washington Sr. has dedicated numerous years of service to Morning Star Baptist Church. Born in Milwaukee, WI, he is the son of Doyle and Dorris Shaw and has been married to his wife Rev. Kimberly for 34 years. Together, they have been blessed with two wonderful children—a daughter and a son. His ministry has brought both rewards and challenges, but wherever God leads him, the body of Christ experiences remarkable growth, both in numbers and spiritually, thanks to his faithful leadership.
I feel that a call to the ministry is also a call to preparation. The principles of Learn, Live, and Love serve as the cornerstone for lasting transformation. When embraced through prayer, fasting, and unwavering faith, these values become the driving force behind meaningful change. They provide the energy and motivation that spark a fire for renewal and growth—a fire that cannot be extinguished, no matter the circumstances. By committing to these principles, individuals can experience profound shifts that propel them forward in their spiritual journey and encourage positive change within their communities.
Currently serving as Pastor of Morning Star Baptist Church, my greatest passion is teaching the Word. I pray that God will continue to guide my steps and provide the spiritual tools to “Raise the Standard for God’s People.” I believe it is essential to help men, women, boys, and girls discover, understand, and internalize God’s will—especially those who are still striving to leave darkness and embrace the radiant light found in Christ Jesus.
